Broken rib

On Tuesday I broke my 10th right rib. While sparring. While what was supposed to be LIGHT sparring.
Doctor says to do absolutely no training for 2 month and at least another month without sparring. I must confesses that I'm a bit depressed. Just a couple of week ago I dreamed , one day , to become a trainer (not a grand master kru or something, just someone useful to have around in the gym) and now I'm contemplating the option  to give up completely. I already have questioned myself about my physical structure not suited for fighting sports. I mean , my sparring partner obliviously hit me too strong. A vicious low hook from close distance. I was keeping my guard high and he went for a liver strike. I'm not mad with him. He made a mistake but is a fighting sports and could happen to deliver a strike harder than you can think. The fact is that a simple sparring blow has broken my rib. My body is to blame. This question is torturing me in the past few days. Am I unsuited for fighting sports? How Thais can take all the blows this a thin body structure ( at least when they are beginners)? Is it because the fact that they start training while still growing? Did I spend too much time on books in my teen hood? I had regular Karate classes for all the High school and first 2 years of college. I had a sedentary life in the past 8 years having hiking and archery as my favorite hobbies. I will turn 36 this month. Am I ALREADY too old?

I watched "fightville" a while ago ( I have a draft post with a review of this movie). At some point Tim Credeur said (redacted quote):
Martial arts are not for everyone. They require dedication [...] and physical qualities. They were invented and taught for the elite warriors in Asia  If someone wasn't suitable for fighting, there was no use to teach him martial arts. So martial arts are not for everyone. Making it for everyone [...] is just not making it at all.
Having spent years studying a "for-everyone" martial art this quote was like stone in a pound. It caused a lot of ripples in me. And now, that it seems I'm also "not-suitable-for-fighting" the ripples are becoming big waves.
I do not complain of been injured. It's a "hurting game" so been hurt is part of the game. I'm questioning my physical ability to train as fighter. Well. I have a couple of months to find my answers.
